Race Seven : (718) - SHING MUN RIVER CHANNEL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 LUCY IN THE SKY (J275) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 COMING PATCH (G222) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded by BRILLIANT EXPRESS which shifted in after being bumped by PRINCE OF PORTY.
Approaching the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when held up between LUCY IN THE SKY and ACE ONE.
After being shifted to the outside of LUCY IN THE SKY after the 250 Metres, COMING PATCH made contact with BRILLIANT EXPRESS and then was held up between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres between PRINCE OF PORTY and CLEAR COURAGE.
Horse No 3 PRINCE OF PORTY (H009) B Avdulla Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 5 STEPS AHEAD (J263) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the right side of its barrier.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 BRILLIANT EXPRESS (J321) H Bowman Shortly after the start was bumped by PRINCE OF PORTY and became unbalanced.
Horse No 8 TRIPLE BLISS (J310) K C Leung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 MASSIVE TALENT (H282) L Ferraris From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the race, L Ferraris stated that he became concerned with his mount when it commenced to give ground from the 700 Metres and whilst he was able to continue to ride MASSIVE TALENT out in the Home Straight, it did not respond to his riding.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
As this was the second occasion that MASSIVE TALENT had raced in a similar manner, the horse will be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments before being allowed to race again.
Horse No 12 MIRACLES (G083) M Chadwick After the race, M Chadwick stated that the instructions were to attempt to find cover.
He said when caught wide in the early stages and unable to comply with his instructions, he allowed MIRACLES to stride forward to race outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground.
Horse No 13 MULTIDARLING (H148) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 14 BULB PRINCE (G179) Y L Chung Was left racing wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.

Post-time favourite Lucy In The Sky easily took control near the 200m after sitting third in the run to ring up a second win from five starts. It was a solid effort carrying top weight. Steps Ahead ran on nicely for second after travelling behind midfield on the fence after a slow start. He has made a good impression in both starts and will be saluting shortly. Prince Of Porty closed off reasonably well after a one-off trip from behind midfield to edge Hayday for third. It was another honest effort. Hayday led and held on for fourth after getting headed for the front 500m out. It was another pleasing effort carrying more weight following a win. Brilliant Express made some ground near the outside after biding his time four from the rear. It was an encouraging debut effort. Coming Patch made good ground after not getting a clear run until the 200m. It was a nice effort off a 518-day injury absence. Greenwich kept on one paced after a rails run from better than midfield. He needed the run off a long break.
