Race Four : (715) - SHING MUN RIVER CHANNEL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) M L Yeung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 CHAMPION METHOD (H366) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 3 ROMANTIC NOVELIST (J167) B Thompson Jumped awkwardly.
Shifted out at the 450 Metres and was bumped.
Approaching the 100 Metres after being bumped by SUNDAY'S SERENADE on a number of occasions was then steadied when crowded between SUNDAY'S SERENADE and MISTER FOX (L Ferraris) which shifted to the outside of GRAND NOVA to secure clear running.
L Ferraris was reprimanded.
Horse No 4 CAMP FIRE (J259) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Near the 900 Metres, CAMP FIRE, which was having its first race start and racing keenly, was steadied when crowded by JOLLY COMPANION which was also racing keenly and got its head up when positioned tight to the inside of SUPER BONUS (A Atzeni).
A Atzeni was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 5 GRAND NOVA (J323) H Bowman For some distance after the 700 Metres over-raced and was steadied away from ROMANTIC NOVELIST near the 600 Metres.
Horse No 6 SUNDAY'S SERENADE (J231) A Hamelin Jumped only fairly.
After the 300 Metres bumped with VERBIER when being shifted to the outside of ROMANTIC NOVELIST to obtain clear running.
For some distance approaching the 100 Metres became unbalanced when it bumped with ROMANTIC NOVELIST on a number of occasions.
Horse No 7 SUPER HIGHWAY (G050) K Teetan Near the 450 Metres was bumped by ROMANTIC NOVELIST which shifted out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 JOLLY COMPANION (H454) K C Leung For some distance approaching the 900 Metres got its head up, raced keenly and refused to settle when racing tight to the inside of SUPER BONUS.
Held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Horse No 9 VERBIER (J187) A Badel From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Bumped after the 300 Metres.
Horse No 11 MISTER FOX (J059) L Ferraris Slow to begin and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
For some distance approaching the 100 Metres was held up behind GRAND NOVA.
Horse No 13 SUPER BONUS (H259) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 14 URBAN TRIUMPH (H200) M Chadwick After the race, M Chadwick reported that his mount shifted ground when placed under pressure in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, lacked concentration during the running of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The well-backed Super Bonus got up by a lip after a pace-stalking run for a second win and first from 10 starts this term. He was able to build on a placing last start. Long-time leader Awesome Treasure was just collared late after kicking nearly two lengths clear at the 300m as the race favourite. It was another solid effort carrying top weight following a last-start win. Silver Destiny ran on well with two wider out to fill a placing. It was a career-best effort wearing blinkers for the first time. Jolly Companion kept on well to just edge Champion Method for fourth after a prominent run on the fence. It was his best effort from 10 starts. Champion Method kept on all right after chasing the speed wide without cover from gate 13. He will be a force to be reckoned with from a better draw. Grand Nova produced a grinding effort following a one-off trip from midfield. Super Highway just held his ground after a wide trip with cover from midfield. Sunday's Serenade ran on without threatening from towards the rear.
