Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (659) - HUNG HOM HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 VIVA HUNTER (E369) E C W Wong After the 300 Metres was shifted to the inside of LUCKY BANNER to obtain clear running and then raced tight to the inside of that runner until near the 100 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 PANDA LEGEND (H002) K De Melo Near the 100 Metres was eased when momentarily crowded by MISSION BRAVO which shifted in.
Horse No 3 G LINER (H072) H Bowman When questioned regarding his riding, H Bowman stated that the intention was to lead the event, but his mount stumbled on jumping and as a result lost ground.
He said in the early stages he then attempted to ride his mount forward, however, G LINER did not show sufficient pace to cross runners to his inside and as a result he took a trailing position behind MAYHEM.
He added that entering the Home Straight he was able to place his mount under pressure until near the 200 Metres where he was unable to improve between MAYHEM and TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR and as a result G LINER did not obtain clear running from that point to the finish of the event.
Trainer J Richards confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 4 MISSION BRAVO (E383) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly and from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 5 FAST VICTORY (H393) K Teetan After the race, K Teetan stated that his mount was under pressure in the middle stages and failed to run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR (H430) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 STARSHIP EIGHTY (H022) C Y Ho Held up on the Home Turn.
Between the 150 Metres and the 50 Metres was held up for clear running behind MAYHEM.
Horse No 10 MAYHEM (H226) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 SUN OF MAKFI (D157) H Bentley Bumped at the start.

In a blanket finish, Sun Of Makfi got up in the final bound to just deny Viva Hunter after making his run three from the rear along the inside from gate nine for a fourth win from 42 starts. Post-time favourite Viva Hunter was held up for most the straight behind the tiring leader after a prominent run but was only just denied after getting the gaps to eventually lead 80m out. He has been racing well and should score shortly. Mission Bravo made it close on the wire after taking off 500m out settling second last from gate 12. He is not reliable but is certainly capable on this surface. Go Hero kept on gamely to just miss a placing after a pace-stalking run outside the leader Lucky Banner. It was his best effort from 11 starts following a switch in surfaces. Lucky Banner gradually faded after dictating the pace. He's mixing his form. Forever Folks got going late after being ridden along toward the rear. He couldn't lift carrying more weight with a return to the course and distance of a penultimate start win. Early favourite Triumphant Warrior didn't find much in the straight run after chasing the leading pair with cover from gate seven.
