Racing Incident Report
Race One : (627) - MAISONS-LAFFITTE HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 DIAMOND SOARS (G201) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 2 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) A Badel Slow to begin.
Near the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid MULTIMORE when that runner gave ground.
Then had some difficulty obtaining clear running for a short distance after.
Horse No 3 KING INVINCIBLE (H199) K C Leung Bumped shortly the start.
When questioned, K C Leung stated that making the first turn his mount lay in slightly.
He said approaching the 500 Metres KING INVINCIBLE then hung out which resulted in him having to correct his mount and KING INVINCIBLE shifting wider on the track.
A warning was placed on the racing manners of KING INVINCIBLE.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 MODEST GENTLEMAN (G352) C L Chau After the 700 Meres, when racing keenly, was steadied away from CRAIG'S MASTER which shifted in.
Approaching the 400 Metres blundered.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 MULTIMORE (D443) H T Mo Near the 400 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by MODEST GENTLEMAN which shifted in and away from CRAIG'S MASTER when racing tight to the inside of that runner.
After the 300 Metres was checked to avoid CRAIG'S MASTER which was giving ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 ISLAND SURPRISE (E429) H Bentley Bumped at the start.
Passing the 600 Metres raced tight between DASHING GLORY and SIX BEST FRIENDS and shortly after was bumped by SIX BEST FRIENDS.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 CRAIG'S MASTER (G440) A Hamelin Bumped shortly the start.
At the 500 Metres was crowded between DIAMOND SOARS and KING INVINCIBLE which hung out.
Near the 300 Metres was checked when crowded between DIAMOND SOARS (H Bowman) which shifted in whilst laying in and MODEST GENTLEMAN (C L Chau) which shifted out slightly.
Both H Bowman and C L Chau were advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 9 AUGUST MOON (D409) K De Melo On arrival at the Start, it was noted that AUGUST MOON had lost its left front plate.
This plate was refitted.
AUGUST MOON was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Horse No 10 SIX BEST FRIENDS (G205) Y L Chung Jumped awkwardly.
Bumped after the 600 Metres.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 HAPPILY FRIENDS (C533) M Chadwick In the early stages raced ungenerously and got its head up.
Approaching the 400 Metres was held up for clear running behind ISLAND SURPRISE.

Favourite Modest Gentleman reeled in King Invincible in the closing stages for a second win over the Valley 1,000m this term. He was able to build on a second last start following a stable transfer. King Invincible skipped nearly two lengths clear at the 200m after driving to the lead 750m out from gate three. He's honest over the Valley 1,000m and can pinch a race soon in this grade. Well-backed August Moon kept on well for third after a wide run with cover in better than midfield. It was a return to form from a better draw and he does like a wet track. Punted late, Tactical Command made up heaps of ground late after settling two from the rear following a slow start. He ran well considering the circumstances but is better suited over the 1,200m. Dashing Glory made progress near the outside to pick up a minor cheque after settling one off the fence behind midfield. It was clearly his best run from 12 starts. Diamond Soars weakened to finish next best after chasing the speed wide without cover from gate 11. He had an excuse. Craig's Master was gone when badly impeded 250m out after chasing the speed.
