Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (596) - MOUNT CAMERON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 EXCEL WONGCHOY (J194) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 COMET SPLENDIDO (G071) E C W Wong Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 3 JUMBO LEGEND (G266) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 PRECISE EXPRESS (D198) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 STRONGEST BOY (H027) Z Purton From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
When questioned, Z Purton stated that after shifting to the rail in the early stages, his intention was to improve towards the inside in the Home Straight.
He said STRONGEST BOY did not travel well throughout the event and dipped on a number of occasions.
He added that in the Home Straight when placed under pressure STRONGEST BOY responded only fairly, however, was held up for clear running between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres behind EXCEL WONGCHOY which was giving ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of STRONGEST BOY was considered to be disappointing as compared to its previous starts.
Before being allowed to race again, STRONGEST BOY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 8 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 LOOKING COOL (G151) Y L Chung Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded by UNITED ENDEAVORS (M L Yeung) which shifted in when not clear.
M F Yeung was severely reprimanded.
In considering the incident, the Stewards found that as UNITED ENDEAVORS was shifting in, it became awkwardly placed behind GOLDEN DARCI when that runner shifted out, causing UNITED ENDEAVORS to be steadied from the heels of GOLDEN DARCI.
Horse No 10 UNITED ENDEAVORS (G030) M L Yeung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, UNITED ENDEAVORS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 11 TO INFINITY (G277) H Bentley Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by COMET SPLENDIDO which shifted out.

Turin Warrior rallied nicely to get up in the closing stages after travelling wide with cover in just worse than midfield. It was his first win at his 28th start and it was overdue after placing in five of six other starts this term. Jumbo Legend came from last and widest out to grab second on the wire. He's a winner waiting to happen. Setanta was just out dashed for second after biding his time one from the rear. He's improved on each of his three starts following a stable change. Comet Splendido looked the winner after hitting the front 200m out after settling in the box sea. He peaked on his run 50m out. It was an improved effort with the claim well utilised. Precise Express stayed on reasonably well to finish next best without threatening the top four after settling wide without cover in better than midfield. Golden Darci gradually faded after stalking the pace. The switch in venues didn't have the desired result. Favourite Strongest Boy threw in the towel 50m out after getting blocked for a run from the 150m marker after settling on the rail behind midfield. He had an excuse.
