Owners' Praise weaved a run near the inside to win going away near the 100m after biding his time four from the rear for a second win from 16 starts. Favourite Top Scorer found one too smart after claiming the lead 500m out chasing the leader Circuit Mighty on the fence. He is a winner waiting to happen. Sky Trust peaked on his move 50m out following a prominent run. He had his chance. Call Me Supreme came from near last and widest out for fourth ridden for luck from gate 14. It was an eye-catching debut effort, and he will be winning races in no time. Joyful Friendship made headway from last to finish next best. It was his best effort from 12 starts following a gear change off a career low in the ratings. Aca Power stayed on next best after chasing the speed wide without cover from gate 11. It was a pleasing effort but he's better on the dirt. Jumbo Fortune just plodded after a midfield run. He is not going well at the moment. The Absolute made a brief bid before throwing in the towel 200m out travelling towards the rear from a wide draw.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine : (586) - CHAOYANGMEN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

Horse No 2 THE ABSOLUTE (H438) L Ferraris When questioned, L Ferraris reported that the intention was to hold a forward position, but on jumping his mount blundered when struck itself and as a result made contact with ACA POWER and lost ground.

He said as a consequence he elected to ride THE ABSOLUTE in a conservative manner in the early stages to avoid making use of his mount to go forward.

He added throughout the early stages THE ABSOLUTE over-raced as he endeavoured to obtain cover behind GOLDEN TITLE and for this reason rather than continuing to restrain his mount to obtain cover he elected to allow THE ABSOLUTE to stride forward from the 900 Metres to obtain a trailing position behind YOUTH POWER.

He stated although obliged to race in a three wide position, he was able to obtain cover throughout the middle stages and when placed under pressure in the Home Straight THE ABSOLUTE lay out and finished the race off only fairly.

After the race, the horse was noted to be making an abnormal respiratory noise.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Before being allowed to race again, THE ABSOLUTE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 4 JUMBO FORTUNE (G195) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 6 CALL ME SUPREME (J202) H Bowman Approaching the 800 Metres, when being shifted in behind runners, shifted in abruptly, resulting in its rider H Bowman having to correct his mount.

Horse No 7 NEVER PETER OUT (J200) K Teetan After the 900 Metres improved to the inside of SKY TRUST and then was steadied when momentarily crowded by that runner.

Horse No 8 OWNERS' PRAISE (H047) L Hewitson Between the 300 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.

Horse No 12 ACA POWER (E144) A Badel After the race, A Badel reported that from a wide barrier and his mount stepping up to 1400 Metres, he was instructed to take up a more forward position, however, ACA POWER was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
