Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (556) - YAU KOM TAU HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 YOUTHFUL DEAL (G340) H Bowman Bumped at the start.
After the race, H Bowman could offer no explanation for his mount's failure to run on in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 VICTORY MOMENTS (H142) M Chadwick Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 TORONADO PHANTOM (E300) B Avdulla From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the race, B Avdulla reported that his mount did not travel well throughout the event and finished the race off only fairly.
He added that TORONADO PHANTOM raced "flat" tonight which, in his opinion, may have been due to the quick backup after racing on 24 March 2024.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 VIVA CHALEUR (G368) M F Poon After the race, M F Poon reported that from the inside barrier VIVA CHALEUR commenced well and was able to take up a forward position without having to be ridden along to do so.
Horse No 5 SING DRAGON (J141) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 FORTUNE WHISKEY (J153) M L Yeung Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
After the race, M L Yeung reported that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event and when he felt that there may have been something amiss with it in the Home Straight, he eased it down from the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of FORTUNE WHISKEY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE WHISKEY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 10 SELF IMPROVEMENT (H337) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by YOUTHFUL DEAL which shifted out.

Firming favourite Sing Dragon kept finding to hold off Victory Moments over the final 150m after quickly finding the front from gate six. It was his second consecutive win following a switch in surfaces from four local starts. Victory Moments came to win the race after travelling one off the rail in midfield but again played second fiddle behind Sing Dragon. It was another solid effort in defeat. Campione weakened to finish a distant third after tracking the speed. It was his best run in a while off a career low in the ratings. Sky Forever ran on well after travelling third last but just missed third while narrowly denying Lightning Bolt for fourth. He's gone all right in two of three runs in this grade following a Class Four win. Lightning Bolt made good ground with one wider out but just missed the frame after a patient ride one from the rear. Toronado Phantom ran on without threatening down the outside from towards the rear. Self Improvement only plodded after settling one out and one back. He's destined for Class Four. Youthful Deal weakened in midfield. He continues to disappoint despite a downgrade.
