Race Eight : (529) - RAPPER DRAGON HANDICAP - Class 1 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 COURIER WONDER (D449) H Bowman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 HOWDEEPISYOURLOVE (H093) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 DUKE WAI (C188) C L Chau After the race, C L Chau stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to take up a forward position on his mount.
Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 5 ADIOS (G338) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly and from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 6 NERVOUS WITNESS (E421) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.
After the race, A Atzeni stated that his mount was not suited by being taken on in the lead throughout the early and middle stages and gave ground under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of NERVOUS WITNESS, a last start winner, was considered to be disappointing as compared to its last start.
Before being allowed to race again, NERVOUS WITNESS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 PACKING TREADMILL (G161) L Hewitson Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
Near the 200 Metres shifted in and away from WHIZZ KID, resulting in its rider L Hewitson having to stop riding and straighten and change his whip to his left hand shortly after.
Horse No 8 INVINCIBLE SAGE (H301) B Shinn When placed under pressure near the 100 Metres lay out, resulting in its rider B Shinn having to stop riding and straighten his mount.
Horse No 9 FLYING ACE (G045) Z Purton Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 BEAUTY CHARGE (G231) M Chadwick After the race, M Chadwick reported that near the 800 Metres his mount was struck in the head by a clod and as a result became unbalanced and lost ground.
Horse No 11 DROMBEG BANNER (H117) K Teetan Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Flying Ace just held off Howdeepisyourlove by a lip after surging to the lead 200m out following a one-off trip from worse than midfield for an overdue win after placing in his opening four of first seven starts this term. Favourite Howdeepisyourlove came from near last to make it close on the wire. It was another fine effort on the back of a last start win. Invincible Sage found a couple just too good after briefly finding the front near the 200m following a handy run. It was another honest performance. Packing Treadmill just held his ground to finish a distant fourth after a prominent run. He's likely on or near his mark. Beauty Charge ran on reasonably well to finish next best after a rail run from behind midfield. He went okay following a last start win at the Valley. Adios made some headway with two wider out after biding his time two from the rear. Punted late Drombeg Banner will sleep well after attacking the speed of leader and the late-fancied Nervous Witness three wide without over from gate 10.
