Race Six : (499) - CHEUNG CHAU HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 RAGING BLIZZARD (H368) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SUGAR SUGAR (G016) K H Chan Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 3 WATCH BUDDY (H185) Y L Chung After the race, Apprentice Y L Chung stated that his mount initially responded to his riding in the early part of the Home Straight but did not finish the race off strongly and may not have backed up from its last start on 6 March 2024.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 VIVA GRACIOUSNESS (J079) B Avdulla When questioned, B Avdulla stated that his instructions were to endeavour to be positive from his wide barrier.
He said VIVA GRACIOUSNESS jumped only fairly, shifted in shortly after the start and bumped with DENFIELD.
He said VIVA GRACIOUSNESS then raced tight to the inside of DENFIELD and as a consequence he elected to shift his mount across behind runners in the early stages to avoid racing wide.
Horse No 6 MA COMET (H391) A Atzeni In the early stages raced keenly and ran wide making the first turn near the 1000 Metres.
Horse No 7 CAPTAIN WIN (E466) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 DENFIELD (G471) K De Melo Shortly after the start was bumped by VIVA GRACIOUSNESS which shifted in.
After the race, K De Melo stated that after being bumped shortly after the start DENFIELD became unbalanced and as a result he allowed his mount to settle behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 KYRUS DRAGON (H396) A Badel Slow to begin.
After the 250 Metres improved into a narrow run between SUPERSONIC and WATCH BUDDY and had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 100 Metres.

Favourite Raging Blizzard won going away after hitting the front 200m out following a perfect trip in the one-one spot from gate three. He was able to defy top weight for a fourth win from seven starts this term. Captain Win ran on nicely from behind midfield for second. He was able to back up a second last time out. Sugar Sugar stayed on well for third despite getting posted wide without cover the entire trip from midfield. It was another solid effort after back-to-back wins. Kyrus Dragon should have finished closer after getting held up for a run until the 100m travelling behind midfield. Viva Graciousness came from last for fifth. He's naturally coming to hand. Watch Buddy had his chance after getting all favours in the box seat. He does appear from his past two runs to be on his mark following back-to-back wins. Denfield never got involved from towards the rear. He's just not good enough at this level. Supersonic tired after dictating the run from gate two at his first local start. He'll need time to settle in. Ma Comet over-raced when stalking the pace and weakened.
