Race One : (351) - BEACON HILL HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 DAILY TROPHY (H283) E C W Wong After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance other than, in his opinion, it is better suited over further distance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 CHOICERUS (H029) H Bowman After the race, H Bowman could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 SWEET DIAMOND (G063) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 RATTAN WORLD (G384) Z Purton Bumped near the 650 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 ALL IS READY (G042) L Ferraris Near the 650 Metres shifted out momentarily and bumped RATTAN WORLD.
After the race, L Ferraris reported that he felt his mount had been galloped on near the 600 Metres and from that point on never travelled comfortably for the remainder of the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a small cut to the right front pastern.
Horse No 10 FINGERS CROSSED (G403) M Chadwick After the race, M Chadwick reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride his mount more conservatively today as it had failed to finish its races off in recent starts when ridden in a forward position and subsequently raced wide and without cover throughout the event.
Horse No 13 FIGHTING STAR (E255) B Avdulla Near the 100 Metres B Avdulla momentarily dropped his left rein.

Early favourite Rattan World produced a perfectly timed run to just deny Sweet Diamond and Millennium Falcon after jumping on time to travel two off with cover from behind midfield for a first win at his 11th start. Sweet Diamond did everything right but get the win after poking his head in front 20m out following a speed-chasing run one off in third. Millennium Falcon was collared late after moving to the lead 300m out following a speed-tracking run one off the fence from gate four. He was stepping out off a rating low and relished a return to Sha Tin. Plunged late Great Days stayed on much better to just take fourth after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was a career-best effort following a gear change. Fighting Star ran on well with one wider out to just miss the frame after a patient ride second last from gate 13. He's racing honestly without winning. Nordic Combined made headway late down the outside from last to finish next best. The quick back up didn't help and he does prefer 1,400m. Daily Trophy never landed a blow after a rail run from behind midfield. He's in the right grade but should stick to dirt racing.
