Horse No 2 SIMPLY MAVERICK (H346) C Y Ho After the 300 Metres was bumped by FEARLESS FIRE which shifted out.

Horse No 3 OWNERS' PRAISE (H047) H Bowman Had its right hind plate replaced in the holding stables, examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Horse No 4 RUNNING AHEAD (G313) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Horse No 5 FEARLESS FIRE (B085) K Teetan After the 300 Metres shifted out and bumped SIMPLY MAVERICK.
Horse No 6 TO INFINITY (G277) K C Leung After the race, K C Leung stated that he was unable to offer any tangible explanation for his mount's failure to finish the race off strongly over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

After tracking the leader in the early stages, odds-on favourite Simply Maverick claimed the lead 300m out and drew clear. He's really come into his own to win twice and also finish third from his past three starts and he should hold his own up in class off a light weight. Lovero stayed on well to finish a clear-cut second after a box seat run. It was a vastly improved effort following a downgrade and switch in surface at his fourth local start. Fearless Fire gradually faded to finish a distant third after strolling to the lead 1,300m out. He's racing well of late without winning. Club Soda whacked on one paced after a prominent run. He's still learning the ropes, but it was his best effort to date. Settling two from the rear, Stormtrouper got going late to finish next best. He might be one to keep on side soon down in Class Five. Owners' Praise ran on without threatening after biding his time one from the rear from an awkward gate. He needed a fast pace but is a better horse at Sha Tin. Running Ahead just plodded after a rail run in midfield following an awkward start.
