Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (301) - POPLAR HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 FUN N GLORY (G003) M Chadwick After the race, M Chadwick stated that his mount raced too keenly during the event and as a result could not quicken when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
He added that, in his opinion, FUN N GLORY may be better suited by being dropped back in distance in a race run at a more genuine pace.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 UP AND UP (H163) C L Chau Shifted in abruptly on jumping and was bumped.
Horse No 3 LUCKY GOLD (G112) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 CHILLI BABA (G339) A Atzeni Raced keenly when it was left racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 DREAM PURSUER (G241) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SHINE BRIGHT (H385) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly and shifted out on jumping.
Horse No 8 GOLDEN RISE (H242) Z Purton Near the 450 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of FUN N GLORY when being shifted to that runner's outside.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 RIVER VIEWS (G212) E C W Wong When questioned regarding his riding on the Home Turn and the reason LUCKY PLANET was able to obtain a run to his inside, Apprentice E C W Wong stated that from the 500 Metres the leader ISLAND BRIGHT appeared to quicken which resulted in RIVER VIEWS becoming slightly under pressure and shifting out.
He said as a result LUCKY PLANET then shifted out and made slight contact with his mount which allowed it to secure clear running to his inside.
The Stewards advised Apprentice Wong that he had made an error of judgement in allowing his mount to shift out on the Home Turn and he would be expected to ride his mounts in a more competitive manner in the future to prevent such manoeuvres taking place.
After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong could offer no explanation for his mount's performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 CAN'T GO WONG (H087) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly and then was badly crowded by UP AND UP which shifted in abruptly.
Leaving the 300 Metres became held up for clear running when unable to improve between DIVINE ERA and FUN N GLORY and as a result made contact with FUN N GLORY near the 250 Metres.
Then did not obtain clear running until near the 150 Metres.
Horse No 12 LUCKY PLANET (H235) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly and shifted in on jumping.
Bumped on the Home Turn.

Dream Pursuer took control 50m out after a well-executed ride midfield on the fence from gate six for an overdue win at his 12th start. He had always promised and took advantage of a half-decent gate for a change. Lucky Planet did everything right but get the win after moving to the lead 300m out travelling box seat following a tardy start. He's a winner waiting to happen. Firming favourite Golden Rise finished well to nearly grab second after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He appreciated the step up to 1,400m after fourths in two of his first three starts over 1,200m. Divine Era kept on all right without threatening the top three after a prominent run. It was another honest effort. Can't Go Wong ran on reasonably well after getting held up early straight travelling five back on the fence. He's not far off a bottom. River Views faded after chasing the leader one off the fence from gate four. He never produces a bad run but is limited. Island Bright finished next best after dictating the pace from gate three. He's still learning the ropes. Chilli Baba never figured after a wide trip towards the rear.
