Recap by phillip woo
Storm Rider raced clear after hitting the lead 130m out following a well-executed ride one off better than midfield from the widest gate for a win at his second career start. He lived up to an eye-catching second on debut last month and there's clearly more to come from the three-year-old. Telecom Dragon ran on steadily to grab second from behind midfield. He continues to race well in his past two starts following a win. Speedy Fortune grudgingly gave way after going straight to the lead from gate one. He lived up to a second last start over 1,000m. Chiu Chow Brother gradually faded after tracking a slow pace to just win a three-horse photo for fourth. It was his best effort from four consecutive Class Four runs but he did get a race run to suit. Happy Golf came up one paced last 100m to just miss fourth after straightening three from the rear and widest out. It wasn't a bad run carrying top weight and he's not far off a bottom. Multidarling had to settle for the smallest share of the prize money after a grinding effort from midfield on the fence. He's found things harder after a win two runs ago at the Valley.
