Race Six : (192) - PLOVER COVE HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 JUMBO LEGEND (G266) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 2 SOLID SHALAA (H228) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 3 GOLDEN LINK (D222) M Chadwick From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Raced keenly in the early stages and lay out on the first turn.
Near the 450 Metres raced tight between MR GOOD VIBES and CHOICERUS which shifted to the outside of SIR HURRICANE.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 SCOTCH TYCOON (G088) L Ferraris When questioned regarding SCOTCH TYCOON leading, L Ferraris stated that whilst he was not specifically asked to lead, he was given the option of holding a forward position if his mount jumped well.
He said after commencing well and when no other runner in the race showed intent to hold the lead, he allowed SCOTCH TYCOON to improve to the lead where it travelled comfortably.

Horse No 5 HIGH PERCENTAGE (G413) K Teetan Close to the finish raced tight between JUMBO LEGEND and SOLID SHALAA which shifted out.
After the race, K Teetan stated that in the Home Straight his mount lay out and shifted ground and proved difficult to ride out.
Horse No 6 GOLDEN RISE (H242) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 SIR HURRICANE (H449) K De Melo Crowded shortly after the start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 TRIUMPHANT WARRIOR (H430) C L Chau Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded between WIND SPEEDER which shifted out slightly and GOLDEN RISE which lay in.
Close to the finish was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SCOTCH TYCOON.

Horse No 9 MR GOOD VIBES (H180) M F Poon Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 WIND SPEEDER (E281) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 CHOICERUS (H029) M L Yeung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from JUMBO LEGEND.

Scotch Tycoon dictated moderate fractions and his change of tactics enabled him to steal the race. He had been an eye-catching fourth first up for his new trainer, Mark Newnham. Triumphant Warrior settled one off the fence in midfield and dashed well for second. It was an impressive debut effort. So Awesome tracked the speed and held off favourite Golden Rise for third. It was his best run in a while. Golden Rise had his chance after chasing the leading pair one off the fence. He is a work in progress after recording fourths in both of his starts. Solid Shalaa ran on steadily from worse than midfield to finish the next best. He has run all right in two of his three post-downgrade races. Jumbo Legend got going late near the outside after Vincent Ho Chak-yiu rode him patiently fourth last. He requires a stronger pace. Punted late, High Percentage ran on without threatening the placegetters after making his run from five back and one off the fence. The tempo did not suit him. Specked late, Wind Speeder disappointed after racing prominently along the rail. He is mixing his form but should attract interest in Class Five.
