Racing Incident Report
Race Seven : (163) - THE PANASONIC CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 1 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 TUCHEL (G345) H Bowman Bumped by DANCING CODE near the 300 Metres.
Approaching the 100 Metres went amiss in the left front leg and fell.
H Bowman was transported to hospital for further assessment.
Samples were taken.
Horse No 2 CIRCUIT STELLAR (G076) Z Purton Jumped only fairly.
After the race, Z Purton could offer no excuse for the disappointing performance of his mount.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 RED LION (H115) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 THE GOLDEN SCENERY (E379) Y L Chung On jumping lost ground.
Horse No 5 SAUVESTRE (E315) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 ATULLIBIGEAL (G173) K De Melo Jumped only fairly and then was bumped shortly after the start.
The Stewards considered a protest/objection lodged by K De Melo, rider of ATULLIBIGEAL, placed 4th, against DANCING CODE, placed 3rd, alleging interference at the 400 Metres and again approaching the 200 Metres.
In considering all the evidence, the Stewards found that near the 400 Metres ATULLIBIGEAL shifted out slightly and made contact with the hindquarters of DANCING CODE, resulting in DANCING CODE being turned in and ATULLIBIGEAL and DANCING CODE becoming unbalanced in this incident.
The Stewards further found that near the 200 Metres after ATULLIBIGEAL obtained a narrow run between DANCING CODE and CIRCUIT STELLAR, it then was momentarily crowded when CIRCUIT STELLAR shifted out and away from RED LION and DANCING CODE which shifted in slightly.
After considering both incidents in their totality, the Stewards overruled the protest/objection and correct weight was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.
K De Melo was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 7 FIND MY LOVE (H110) M L Yeung Approaching the 100 Metres was bumped heavily by TUCHEL when that horse shifted out, resulting in its rider, M L Yeung, being dislodged.
M L Yeung was subsequently examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 DANCING CODE (G365) M Chadwick Near the 400 Metres became badly unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters.
Near the 300 Metres shifted out and bumped with TUCHEL.
After the race, M Chadwick reported that his mount's saddle shifted back near the 400 Metres as a result of being contacted by ATULLIBIGEAL, placing him at some disadvantage in riding his mount out.

Punted late Sauvestre kept on gamely after dictating the run from gate four to score by a neck. He was able to build on a third second-up last start to ring up a fourth win over the 1,400m. Red Lion just prevailed in a three-horse photo for second after a box-seat run. It was a fine first-up run this term and he'll be back in the winner's circle in no time. Dancing Code ran on nicely to make it close for second after a prominent run. It was a good run despite a rise in class. Atullibigeal was unlucky not to have placing after copping a bump and losing some momentum 350m out following a rails run from midfield. It was a solid effort. Favourite Circuit Stellar failed to lift when push came to shove after a speed-tracking run. It was a below par effort. The Golden Scenery was a non-factor after hopping in the air at the jump with late market action. Second favourite Tuchel came down and tossed his rider when going amiss near the 100m. Find My Love unseated his rider when failing to avoid the fallen Tuchel after making his run one from the rear.
