Race Five : (161) - PANASONIC LIGHTING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 LEADING FORTUNE (C441) B Avdulla After the race, B Avdulla stated that after obtaining a position outside the lead, his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 ABSOLUTE SUNSHINE (H342) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and then was bumped.
Horse No 4 POWERFUL WINGS (G225) Y L Chung When questioned regarding the horse settling more forward today, Apprentice Y L Chung stated that his instructions were to endeavour to take up an on-pace position.
He said as a result in the early stages he rode his mount along to comply with his instructions.
Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions issued and stated that he asked Apprentice Chung to take up a more forward position to take advantage of his 5 lb claim.
Horse No 5 SPEED DRAGON (H380) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly and then was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
After the 350 Metres was held up behind POWERFUL WINGS and did not obtain clear running until near the 200 Metres when it shifted to the inside of POWERFUL WINGS.
Over the concluding stages could not be fully tested when racing in restricted room between POWERFUL WINGS and SILVER KING.
Horse No 8 BEAUTY FIT (E279) A Hamelin In the Home Straight lay in when placed under pressure and near the 250 Metres brushed with POWERFUL WINGS.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 MASTER OF FORTUNE (G474) Z Purton Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.

Horse No 10 PRECISE EXPRESS (D198) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
After the race, A Atzeni stated that with his mount stepping up in class for today's event and being obliged to race wide and without cover, he was not too disappointed with the performance of PRECISE EXPRESS.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 HARRY'S HERO (H332) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly and then was badly crowded shortly after the start.

Early favourite Master Of Fortune just prevailed by a lip over post-time favourite Beauty Fit after racing to the lead 150m out following a one-off trip from behind midfield. Beauty Fit just failed to get up after a handy run on the fence. He proved a close third last weekend was not a fluke. Silver King was touched off late after giving a cheeky sight clearing to the lead from gate 10m. It was a solid debut performance. Powerful Wings stayed on well to fill the frame after a prominent run. It was a return to form at his fourth start this term. Speed Dragon never could get into the clear over the last 300m following a patient ride one from the rear. He should have finished closer on his local debut. You'remyeverthing produced a grinding effort finding the fence in midfield from gate 12. He might not be far off a bottom. Invincible Missile came from last to finish next best. He'll be one to keep safe with Class Four on the horizon. Leading Fortune faded after chasing the speed wide without cover from a tricky gate.
