Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (126) - SHENZHEN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 ROYAL PRIDE (E351) L Ferraris Approaching the winning post was steadied away from PRECISE EXPRESS (A Atzeni) which shifted in when not clear.
A Atzeni was reprimanded.
Horse No 2 AMAZING TEENS (E449) B Avdulla After the race, B Avdulla stated that his instructions were to endeavour to find an on-pace position with cover, but if he was unable to do so, he was given the option to ride his mount in a conservative manner in the early stages to avoid racing wide.
He added after being caught wide in the early stages, he elected to come back on his mount in order to avoid covering additional ground and as a result AMAZING TEENS settled further back in the field than what it had done in its previous race starts.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 FLYING SILVER (E478) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 150 Metres was checked to avoid FOREVER GLORIOUS and then shifted that runner's outside to secure clear running.
Horse No 4 FOREVER FOLKS (G463) A Hamelin Slow to begin and then was crowded by ROYAL PRIDE which shifted out.
After the race, A Hamelin stated that when he had concern with his mount's action in the Home Straight, he did not ride it out to the finish of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of FOREVER FOLKS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, FOREVER FOLKS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 5 REACH GOAL (G067) A Badel Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Before being allowed to race again, REACH GOAL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.
Horse No 6 FOREVER GLORIOUS (G229) K C Leung In the early stages raced keenly.
Near the 200 Metres improved to the inside of CIRCUIT ELITE, resulting in FOREVER GLORIOUS making contact with DAZZLING FELLOW.
M Chadwick (HAPPY ANGEL) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 150 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of CIRCUIT ELITE, resulting in CIRCUIT ELITE being taken in onto FOREVER GLORIOUS, resulting in FOREVER GLORIOUS having to be checked and also making contact with DAZZLING FELLOW, which was positioned to the inside of FOREVER GLORIOUS.
M Chadwick was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 15 November 2023 at Happy Valley.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his excellent race riding record.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 DAZZLING FELLOW (G058) Z Purton Bumped at the 200 Metres.
Approaching the 150 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 PRECISE EXPRESS (D198) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 CIRCUIT ELITE (E487) Y L Chung Lay in between the 200 Metres and the 150 Metres before being corrected by its rider Apprentice Y L Chung.
Apprentice Chung was advised to exercise more care.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No VINCY (B213) A Atzeni Withdrawn on 28.10.23 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter PRECISE EXPRESS.
Before being allowed to race again, VINCY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Standby starter Precise Express dashed well down the outside after making his run three from the rear to take control 50m out with late-market support. He was suited by the speed but was fitter for two okay runs. Outsider Amazing Teens dashed well to grab second from near last at huge odds. The Valley experiment worked out well after making a good living previously on dirt. Favourite Dazzling Fellow got up for third after getting roughed up 200m out travelling handy on the fencer. He ran well following a last start win in Class Five. Royal Pride ran on steadily to just edge Happy Angel for fourth from midfield. The big weight anchored him. Happy Angel finished next best after hitting the front 200m following a pace-stalking run from gate 11. It was another honest effort. Classic Archi had his chance after a prominent run but came up one-paced over the last 100m. Circuit Elite faded after setting a genuine pace. Forever Glorious gave up the chase when badly hampered 200m out following a prominent run.
