Recap by phillip woo
Well-fancied Yellowfin dictated a genuine pace from gate five, turned the final bend one length on top and kept finding to beat favourite Taj Dragon. It was his second consecutive win and first Class Three victory on his 14th start in the grade. He has the tools to win again. Taj Dragon was edging closer with every stride but found one too good. The weight differential determined the outcome. Brave Dreams came from near last to fill a placing. He is as honest as the day is long. Show Respect ran on steadily from his midfield spot on the fence to fill the frame. He is acclimatising. Marado came up onepaced following his prominent run. He ran with merit for his new trainer, Chris So Wai-yin, off his 224-day break. Flagship Warrior travelled better than midfield under 10-pound claimer Ellis Wong Chi-wang before just holding his ground. He needed the outing for his new handler, Caspar Fownes. Solid Shalaa came up flat. The step up to 1,400m following his grinding 1,200m fifth on opening day did not have the desired result. Beauty Mission never got involved from towards the rear. He is a hard one to get right.
