Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (801) - KOWLOON TSAI PARK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 2200Meters
CIRCUIT ELITE and SUPER HONG KONG bumped at the start.
REACH GOAL jumped only fairly.
MANAGEMENT FOLKS was slow to begin and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Shortly after the start, KOWLOON GREAT and NICE BIRDIE bumped when both horses shifted ground.
From the outside barrier, BORN THE SAME DAY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 2000 Metres, REACH GOAL raced tight to the inside of BORN THE SAME DAY which lay in.
Making the Home Turn, CIRCUIT ELITE was steadied when crowded by MANAGEMENT FOLKS which was taken in by FLYING SILVER (Apprentice Y L Chung).
Apprentice Chung was reprimanded.
After the race, H Bowman (KOWLOON GREAT) stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight after settling back in the field and, in his opinion, may have reached the end of its preparation.
A veterinary inspection of KOWLOON GREAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

SUPER HONG KONG and BORN THE SAME DAY were sent for sampling.

Favourite Super Hong Kong drew clear after accelerating to the lead 150m out following a one-out, one-back run for a well deserved second win this season. The writing was on the wall with seconds in two prior starts. Born The Same Day stayed on well for second after circling the field 750m out from near last to lead just under the 600m. He proved a placing two runs ago over this course and distance was not a fluke. Management Folks ran on well to snatch third late after making his run four back on the fence following a tardy start. It was another good effort carrying more weight following a last-start win over 1,800m. Nice Birdie just lost a placing after getting his own way in front from gate eight. It was a pleasing effort despite a sharp rise in distance. Happy Angel peaked on his run 150m out following a pace-stalking run. He has been racing consistently well without winning in a very busy campaign. Flying Silver ran on steadily without ever looking a threat from worse than midfield. Kowloon Great made only a mild bid from the rear of the field. He performed below expectations despite a riding change to Hugh Bowman.
