Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (787) - RIDING HIGH TOGETHER 1000M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
KA YING SPIRIT jumped awkwardly and then was bumped by RUN RUN COOL.
Shortly after the start, RUN RUN COOL then raced tight to the outside of ATOMIC ENERGY which shifted out.
VALIANT ELEGANCE jumped awkwardly, then shifted in and made contact with DIVINE SHINING.
HIGH RISE SOLDIER and METRO WARRIOR bumped at the start.
Near the 300 Metres, METRO WARRIOR shifted in to obtain clear running and in doing so briefly crowded DIVINE SHINING.
Near the 100 Metres, SUPER AXIOM, which was commencing to give ground, was steadied to avoid HIGH RISE SOLDIER which shifted to the inside of CHEVAL VALIANT to obtain clear running.
After the race, K Teetan (SUPER AXIOM) reported that his mount travelled well in the lead and when asked for an effort over the final 300 Metres gave ground and raced in a disappointing manner.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER AXIOM immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Also after the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on KA YING SPIRIT at the request of Trainer C S Shum.
The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
A veterinary inspection of DIVINE SHINING, which was eased down in the Home Straight, immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of DIVINE SHINING was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, DIVINE SHINING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
DREAM WINNER and CHEVAL VALIANT were sent for sampling.

Raging favourite Dream Winner drew clear to win with plenty in hand after travelling better than midfield and hitting the front 200m out. He is perfect in his three starts, and the three-year-old sprinter has a very bright future. Cheval Valiant stayed on nicely for second after claiming the lead from Super Axiom 400m out following his speed-tracking run. He is very honest over the straight track. Punted late, Metro Warrior stayed on well for third after his prominent run. He does not know how to produce a bad run over 1,000m at either venue. Beauty Tycoon just outfinished High Rise Soldier for fourth. It was one of his better efforts over the straight 1,000m. Rank outsider High Rise Soldier ran on well down the stands side to just miss a quartet spot after a patient ride third last. He ran well but is better suited in Class Four at Happy Valley. Valiant Elegance got going late to finish next best after biding his time towards the rear. If he finds his way into Class Four, he will be a force to be reckoned with. Run Run Cool made ground late without menacing the placegetters after his slow start on the far side.
