Recap by phillip woo
Russian Emperor came with a perfectly timed run to just collar odds-on favourite Romantic Warrior in the shadows of the post to make it back-to-back wins in this race. He's a quality stayer. Romantic Warrior was touched off late after getting softened in a surprise lead role by Money Catcher from the 650m. It was another solid effort trying 2,400m for the first time. Five G Patch came from last to snatch third. It was a huge effort off a rating 43 points outside his local handicap. Straight Arron ran on steadily to finish next best from towards the rear. It was another positive performance carrying nine pounds more at set weights following a Group Three win. Money Catcher served it up to the favourite 650m out after a speed-chasing run on the fence but peaked on his run 100m out. Panfield just held his ground after a prominent run. He just hasn't been the same horse this season. Senor Toba plugged on evenly from midfield.
