Recap by phillip woo
Odds-on favourite Romantic Warrior was much too good after hitting the front 250m out following a speed-chasing run in third behind the uncontested leader Money Catcher for a 10th win from 13 starts and five from six over this course and distance. He was reunited with James McDonald who's now three-from-three on the exciting stayer. Prognosis came from last to grab second without threatening the winner. He lived up to some sterling form in Japan. Dubai Honour ran well to get up for third from midfield but this was a different kettle of fish after easily winning two Group Ones in Australia. Money Catcher just lost a placing in the dying stages after dictating things to his liking. It was another honest performance. Danon The Kid came up flat after getting posted without cover travelling midfield. Geraldina never got into the act from towards the rear. The pace played against her and she probably prefers 2,400m. Tourbillon Diamond folded to finish last after tracking the leader on the fence. He just hasn't been the same horse in his past three starts after placing second in his opening two of three runs this term.
