Recap by phillip woo
Dual Horse of the Year, Golden Sixty coasted home much the best after hitting the front 300m out ridden prominently following a quick start for a 25th win from 29 starts. He's made history yet again with a third straight win in yesterday's Champions Mile race. Beauty Joy ran on nicely from midfield to grab second in the dying stages. He's honest but keeps finding one or a few too good at the top level. California Spangle ended third after getting pestered for the lead first by Healthy Happy and then by Voyage Bubble. Punted late Voyage Bubble weakened to finish fourth after working too hard without cover on the speed. He had an excuse. New Zealander Aegon came from last to finish next best in the eight-horse field. He was able to pick up some prize money but is not in the same league. My Oberon never got into the act from towards the rear. Waikuku found nothing when push came to shove rounding the final bend widest out from behind midfield. He's ready to enjoy retirement. Healthy Happy finished down the track after briefly vying for the early lead.
