Racing Incident Report
Race Six: (238) - JIM AND TONIC HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters
Whilst in the saddling stalls, DEAR SIBLING had its right hind plate refitted.
DEAR SIBLING was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
Just prior to the start being effected, POWERFUL WINGS, which was being assisted by a starting gate handler, became fractious and reared, resulting in the horse losing ground.
Before being allowed to race again, POWERFUL WINGS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
S J TOURBILLON shifted out on jumping and inconvenienced SWAN BAY.
After this, from a wide barrier, SWAN BAY was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Also from a wide barrier, INVINCIBLE MISSILE was steadied in the early stages to obtain a position closer to the rail.
Shortly after the start, BLASTOISE was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SWEET ENCOUNTER which shifted out.
Near the 1400 Metres, S J TOURBILLON was left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching and passing the 700 Metres, SWAN BAY brushed the running rail when racing tight inside INVINCIBLE MISSILE.
Passing the 500 Metres, J Moreira (INVINCIBLE MISSILE) dropped his whip.
A veterinary inspection of ENTRUSTED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of ROUND THE EARTH immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, ROUND THE EARTH will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SWEET ENCOUNTER and SECRET VISION were sent for sampling.

Odd-on favourite Sweet Encounter was too smart after rushing to the lead 200m out following a perfect trip third on the fence to ring up a fourth win plus a second from five starts. He handled the rise in trip with aplomb and is destined for better things. Secret Vision ran on nicely to grab second 60m out after a one-off trip behind midfield. He had run well once and had excuses in two others this term. Champion Dragon kept on gamely after finding the front from gate 14. He should get away with a race shortly. Woodfire Bro found a few too good after chasing the leader on the fence. It was another pleasing run following wins in two of three prior starts. Looking Cool held his ground following a handy run. It was a typical effort. S J Tourbillon ran on without menacing with one wider out after making his run four from the rear. He has struggled in his past three after an upset win in October. Powerful Wings made some ground late without ever looking a chance after badly missing the kick.
