Amazing Victory came with a ducking-and-weaving run to take control 80m after fading back from a wide draw. He's done very well to win three of four this term and can win again. California Redwood weaved a run to take second settling behind midfield and one off the fence. He caught the eye in three starts last season and this was a fine effort following ligament issues. Let's Do It ran on well for third along the inside despite getting impeded close to home following a patient ride two from the rear. He's honest but has trouble winning. A Pal was tippy toeing 50m out after moving to the front 400m out following a box-seat run. He could not build on an easy win last start carrying six pounds more. Happy Together made headway late without menacing from near last It was a much-improved effort second up in Hong Kong. All Riches knocked up 100m out after getting his own way in front from gate nine. He's produced mixed results in three outings this term. Parterre held his ground after a wide trip in midfield. He had an excuse.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (222) - NATHAN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters

IVY LEAGUE was checked on jumping when crowded for room between JAZZ CLUB and TRAVEL GOLF which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider.

PARTERRE and GOODBAN BANBANBANG bumped at the start.

From the outside barrier, CASA COSMO was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After initially being ridden along from a wide barrier, AMAZING VICTORY was steadied passing the 1300 Metres and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

Passing the 1100 Metres, GOODBAN BANBANBANG was momentarily crowded for room inside PARTERRE which shifted in before being directed back out to relieve the crowding.

In the early stages, GLOBAL HARMONY was left racing wide and without cover and approaching the 900 Metres was ridden along to clear JAZZ CLUB and race outside the lead near the 750 Metres at which time PARTERRE was left racing wide and without cover.

Passing the 800 Metres, AMAZING VICTORY momentarily raced in restricted room inside the heels of SAMARKAND and passing the 600 Metres was awkwardly placed behind CALIFORNIA REDWOOD.

At the entrance to the Straight, LET'S DO IT was steadied when disappointed for running between IVY LEAGUE and AMAZING VICTORY which shifted to the inside of CALIFORNIA REDWOOD to obtain clear running.

Passing the 400 Metres, CALIFORNIA REDWOOD was shifted to the inside of TRAVEL GOLF to continue improving.

After the 400 Metres, A PAL shifted in marginally and bumped the hindquarters of ALL RICHES which became unbalanced and shifted out.

Near the 300 Metres, LET'S DO IT had some difficulty obtaining clear running.

Passing the 300 Metres, GOODBAN BANBANBANG raced in restricted room between GLOBAL HARMONY and PARTERRE.

Passing the 100 Metres, LET'S DO IT (K H Chan), which was finishing the race off strongly, improved to be racing close to the heels of A PAL.

LET'S DO IT was then shifted in away from the heels of A PAL which got its head on the side and lay in.

This resulted in ALL RICHES, which was racing to the inside of LET'S DO IT, being crowded for room inside that horse as LET'S DO IT improved to be racing inside the heels of A PAL.

When K H Chan attempted to steady LET'S DO IT, he dropped his left rein which he was able to regather close to the finishing line.

The performance of JAZZ CLUB, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, JAZZ CLUB will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of GLOBAL HARMONY and JAZZ CLUB immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A PAL, AMAZING VICTORY and CALIFORNIA REDWOOD were sent for sampling.
