Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (142) - KATE TOKYO HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
SUPER ACE was slow to begin.
SPARKLING DOLPHIN began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped GLENEALY GENERALS which in turn shifted out and inconvenienced VALHALLA.
VALHALLA then lay out, resulting in GREAT FOR YOU being crowded for room inside BRILLIANT PIONEER.
After the 400 Metres, KOWLOON EAST STAR lay in under pressure.
Passing the 300 Metres, LE PLUS VITE and SUPER ACE bumped.
After the 200 Metres, GLENEALY GENERALS was directed to the outside of KOWLOON EAST STAR to improve into tight running between that horse and ALLGREEKTOME.
Then near the 100 Metres, GLENEALY GENERALS, when continuing to race tight outside KOWLOON EAST STAR, shifted out and bumped ALLGREEKTOME.
GLENEALY GENERALS then raced in restricted room over the concluding stages between KOWLOON EAST STAR and ALLGREEKTOME and because of this was not able to be fully tested.
When questioned regarding the performance of ALLGREEKTOME, which was racing for the first time today, L Currie stated that after beginning only fairly, ALLGREEKTOME was able to improve in the early stages to obtain a forward position.
He said ALLGREEKTOME travelled well in the early and middle stages until being placed under pressure after the 500 Metres.
He said when placed under pressure ALLGREEKTOME immediately commenced to lay out.
He said passing the 300 Metres as ALLGREEKTOME was continuing to lay out and KOWLOON EAST STAR, which was racing in advance, commenced to shift in, he was able to shift his mount to the outside of KOWLOON EAST STAR to race on the outside rail.
He said over the concluding stages ALLGREEKTOME finished the race off one-paced and based on the quality of the horse's barrier trial when ridden by him in the lead up to today's race, he was of the opinion that ALLGREEKTOME was disappointing today.
He added that whilst ALLGREEKTOME raced in restricted room outside GLENEALY GENERALS close to the finishing line, he did not believe that this impacted on the horse's ability to finish the race off.
After the race, GREAT FOR YOU was noted to have blood in its mouth.
A veterinary inspection of SPARKLING DOLPHIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ALLGREEKTOME, FLYING HIGH and BABY CRYSTAL were sent for sampling.

Flying High just got up in the last bound to deny newcomer Baby Crystal after a handy run near the far side from a low draw for a first win at his 19th start. He had put the writing on the wall first-up from his opening two starts this term. Baby Crystal did everything right but get the win after moving to the front 150m out chasing the speed in third from gate one. It was a solid debut run. Valhalla ran on nicely from behind midfield to easily take third without menacing the top two. He appears to have improved during the off season. Kowloon East Star held on for fourth after finding the front from a middle draw. He's not genuine but it wasn't a bad run second-up this season for his new trainer. Glenealy Generals ran on steadily near the stands side to just miss the frame after a one-off run better than midfield. He's never too far off the mark over the Sha Tin trip. Millennium Falcon made ground from last on the far side without menacing from a low draw. He's in the right grade but prefers a longer trip. Debutant Allgreektome gradually faded chasing the speed after a sluggish start as the firming favourite. He needed the run.
