Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Fiery Diamond quickened nicely to overhaul Magic Supreme 30m out from behind midfield for a maiden win at his 10th start. The key was a return to the dirt and riding change to Zac Purton. Late-fancied Magic Supreme held on gamely for a share of second after turning the final bend two lengths on top leading from a wide draw. He's got good AWT form in Class Four. Thunderstrike stayed on nicely to dead-heat for second after a wide trip better than midfield. He's as honest as the day is long on this surface. Turbo Power finished nicely down the outside from well back to fill the frame. This race gives him options going forward on both surfaces. Starry Night just held his ground after chasing the speed one-off in third from gate 12. It was an OK effort trying the AWT. Prosecco made some ground without menacing travelling two from the rear. He's naturally returning to form. Telecom Missile just held his ground after a rails run in midfield. He's itching for a return to Class Five. Moeraki failed to get involved from behind midfield. He won his final start last season but appeared to need the run.
