Recap by phillip woo
Well-backed Telecom Fighters just held off the fast-finishing Rise Brethren after being gifted a very easy time in front for a fifth career win over this Valley trip. He's as honest as the day is long. Rise Brethren dashed strongly two from the right to just miss by a lip after saving ground in midfield. He showed his versatility after ending a solid first campaign with a win over 2,000m, and there's likely more to come from him. Fa Fa wasn't beaten far, but he had his chance in the box seat. He's likely close to his mark. Favourite Jumbo Fortune made some ground near the inside to just miss a placing travelling worse than midfield along the inside following a tardy break. It was another positive run following a good Sha Tin effort on opening day and he can bob up at any moment. Charity Go got going late after a wide-without-cover trip behind midfield. It was a good effort over an inadequate trip. Sunny Star weakened 100m out after tracking the leader one off the fence. He requires more rating relief. Berlin Tango never got into the act from toward the rear. He wasn't suited by the slow pace.
