Racing Incident Report
Race Seven: (7) - LANTAU PEAK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
BRILLIANT LIFE (K C Leung), which was fractious in the barriers, began very awkwardly and lost ground.
After the race, K C Leung expressed concern regarding the action of BRILLIANT LIFE.
A veterinary inspection of BRILLIANT LIFE immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, BRILLIANT LIFE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
SOLAR WINDS was steadied on jumping to obtain cover.
Despite being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, INFINITE POWER failed to muster speed.
Passing the 1000 Metres, SOLAR WINDS was bumped by INFINITE POWER which got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly.
Passing the 900 Metres, SOLAR WINDS got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of VILLA FIONN.
Between the 350 Metres and the 200 Metres, E LEGEND and MR MAJESTIC raced tight as MR MAJESTIC attempted to improve into tight running between E LEGEND and SUPER FORTUNE.
Throughout the race, DROPS OF GOD travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of DROPS OF GOD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ORIENTAL SMOKE and E LEGEND were sent for sampling.

Favourite Oriental Smoke drew clear after hitting the front 120m out following a oneout, one-back run for a second win and has yet to miss the board in eight starts. He's got room to head higher. Well-backed E Legend stayed on well for second after a pace-stalking run. It was a good effort over an inadequate trip. Newcomer Mr Majestic kept on gamely to miss second after a box-seat run. He appears to have a future in Hong Kong after showing good form in Australia. Super Fortune died on his run 50m out after leading as expected from gate four. He needed the run but was stepping out off a career high in the ratings. Lucky Archangel stayed on distant fifth after a one-off run in midfield. He might be crying out for a longer trip. Power Koepp ran on without menacing after settling four from the rear from a wide draw. He needed the outing. Solar Winds made some ground late near the inside after making his run next to last from a tricky gate. He's still acclimatising. Dynamic Spirit held his ground after a midfield run carrying a back-breaking weight. It was an OK debut effort.
