Racing Incident Report
Race One: (615) - HAWTHORN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
JOYFUL WIN shifted out at the start and bumped HARMONY FIRE.
After this, despite being vigorously ridden along, JOYFUL WIN was slow to muster speed.
TRIPLE TRIPLE bumped the outside of its gate on jumping and consequently began only fairly.
EIGHT TRIGRAMS was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
In the Straight, JUMBO GOAL (M L Yeung) lay in and approaching the 50 Metres brushed the running rail.
Close to the finishing line, TRIPLE TRIPLE shifted in away from JOYFUL WIN which resulted in HARMONY FIRE racing tight inside TRIPLE TRIPLE after being brushed by that horse.
JUMBO GOAL, which was racing inside HARMONY FIRE and continuing to lay in, got its head on the side and shifted in away from HARMONY FIRE and in doing so bumped the running rail.
When JUMBO GOAL bumped the running rail, M L Yeung's right foot was injured after hitting the rail.
On pulling up, M L Yeung dismounted from JUMBO GOAL.
M L Yeung was subsequently stood down from his remaining race riding engagements by the Club's Chief Medical Officer.
WHIZZ KID and SPECIAL M were sent for sampling.

Firming at very short odds, Whizz Kid took the sit one-off in second behind leader Jumbo Goal, reclaimed the front 130m out and kept on gamely for a fourth 1,000m win from 11 starts this term. It was another solid win carrying top weight by the three-year-old and he'll remain competitive up in grade off a light weight. Special M found the winner too smart for a second straight run after a prominent run one-off the fence. He has been racing well all season long over this trip. Joyful Win just beat Triple Triple home for third after a rails run in midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over this trip. Triple Triple came from last to nearly place. He's gone all right in back-to-back runs following a win in Class Four. Eight Trigrams came up one-paced after travelling near last in the seven-horse field. It was another failed attempt in Class Three but he's better suited over 1,200m. Harmony Fire had every chance after a box-seat run. He's not racing well at the moment. Newcomer Jumbo Goal folded in the last 100m after being hustled to lead from the widest draw. He needed the run.
