Racing Incident Report
Race Two: (586) - SIU MA SHAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
As the start was effected, TEAM GOODLUCK lifted its front feet off the ground and consequently was slow to begin.
COLOURFUL PRINCE began only fairly.
UTOPIA LIFE shifted in at the start and inconvenienced LE PLUS VITE.
Despite being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, both COOLCELEB and TAKINGUFURTHER failed to muster speed.
Passing the 800 Metres, E BROTHER was momentarily crowded for room inside SMART FOLKS (M L Yeung) which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening to E BROTHER.
M L Yeung was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
LE PLUS VITE made the turn after the 700 Metres awkwardly and shifted out and after this was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 50 Metres, UTOPIA LIFE was briefly awkwardly placed close to the heels of JAZZ ANGEL.
Then over the concluding stages, WISDOM PATCH was awkwardly placed outside the heels of UTOPIA LIFE which shifted out under pressure.
Throughout the race, UTOPIA LIFE travelled wide and without cover.
L Currie (LE PLUS VITE) was reminded of his obligation in regards to the amount of whip to be used on a horse out of contention.
A veterinary inspection of COLOURFUL PRINCE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
E BROTHER, JAZZ ANGEL and SMART FOLKS were sent for sampling.

Jazz Angel shot clear 100m out for a first win after hitting the front 100m out following a prominent run with cover from a wide draw. He had put the writing on the wall after nearly winning with a return to this surface last start. Well-backed Smart Folks found one too good getting his own way in front from a middle gate. It was an improved effort on this surface. Utopia Life kept on reasonably well to just miss second after a three-wide run chasing the leader from gate 11. He's a winner waiting to happen. E Brother just held his ground after sitting on the leader's back until peeling one off entering the straight. He had no excuse but certainly has improved in his past two starts on this surface. Wisdom Patch came up one-paced after getting held up for a run until the 200m following a handy run with cover from a tricky gate. Prefer him in Class Five. Coolceleb came from a distant last and widest out at the top of the straight to beat a handful of runners. He rarely produces a bad run on this surface. Team Goodluck ran on late from near last after badly missing the kick. He had an excuse but likely requires a longer trip.
