Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (541) - HAP MUN BAY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
COLOURFUL PRINCE was withdrawn on 29.3.22 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DASSIT (K Teetan).
Before being allowed to race again, COLOURFUL PRINCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
GREEN ENVY shifted out at the start and bumped DASSIT.
TEAM GOODLUCK began only fairly.
MOERAKI shifted out at the start and bumped ARES.
From the outside barriers, HAPPY FAT CAT and SICOMORO were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
When being steadied to obtain cover behind DASSIT passing the 1100 Metres, WHAT A LEGEND commenced to travel keenly and proved difficult to settle.
When WHAT A LEGEND was being shifted out across behind DASSIT near the 1000 Metres, HAPPY FAT CAT, which was following WHAT A LEGEND, commenced to over-race and got its head up on a number of occasions when being checked away from the heels of that horse.
After this, HAPPY FAT CAT continued to travel keenly.
Making the turn near the 600 Metres, DASSIT and GREEN ENVY raced tight.
TEAM GOODLUCK was held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn and then was awkwardly placed close to the heels of GREEN ENVY at the entrance to the Straight when being shifted to the outside of that horse to obtain clear running.
TEAM GOODLUCK then raced in restricted room in the early part of the Straight when improving into tight running between GREEN ENVY and TURQUOISE HOPE.
When shifting to the outside of GREEN ENVY, TEAM GOODLUCK shifted out, resulting in TURQUOISE HOPE and DASSIT being inconvenienced.
WHAT A LEGEND had difficulty obtaining clear running from on straightening until after the 300 Metres.
Throughout the race, MOERAKI travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of WHAT A LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
FLYING DRAGON and E BROTHER were sent for sampling.

Favourite Flying Dragon drew clear after reclaiming the lead from E Brother 250m out following a box-seat run for a second win from four starts on this surface. He didn't beat much but does love this surface and can remain competitive up in grade off a light weight. E Brother stuck on gamely after rolling forward from a tricky gate to lead 800m out. It was a good effort sporting first-time blinkers with a switch to the dirt. Team Goodluck rallied late to snatch third after biding his time behind midfield on the fence. He proved a win last start in Class Five on the turf was not a fluke. Moeraki lost a placing late after working hard punching the breeze three deep on the speed for the most part. He's close to a bottom. Coolceleb came from a distant last and widest out at the head of the straight to earn a minor cheque. It was an improved effort with a return to his favourite surface. Punted late, Ares just held his ground after a wide run with cover in midfield. He's failed to recapture top form on both surfaces this term. Sicomoro made some ground late without menacing from near last at the top of the straight. It was shade better effort with a step back to sprinting but he did get a race run to suit.
