Favourite Senor Toba took nearly the entire straight to mow down long-time leader Enjoying after making his run one off better than midfield after a sluggish start. He relished the step up in distance after making a good impression in his first two starts. Sensationally backed Enjoying kept on gamely after straightening nearly two lengths on top finding the front from gate six at the 1,600m. It was a better effort following an uncontested lead. Charity Go got up late for third without menacing the quinella pair after taking off from the back 650m out. He relished a step up in distance after finishing thereabouts in four other starts this term. Berlin Tango had his chance after a handy run along the inside but only plodded when asked for an effort. He can produce an odd good run now but has trouble winning. Winning Dragon kept on all right after a box-seat run. He's flashed some potential in his two starts but is still acclimatising. Flying Quest weakened after stalking the speed from an outside gate. It wasn't one of his better efforts but he is nine years of age. Super Football found nothing after making his run four back on the fence. He's struggled to recapture any sort of form in his three starts this term.

Race Three: (282) - THE HONG KONG SPORTS INSTITUTE 30TH ANNIVERSARY CUP - Class 2 - 2000Meters

SENOR TOBA was slow to begin.

BERLIN TANGO and SUPER FOOTBALL bumped on jumping.

From the outside barrier, CHARITY GO was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

K C Leung (CHARITY GO) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that for some distance passing the 800 Metres he directed his mount out and in doing so made contact with HIT THE SHOT on a number of occasions, causing that horse to become unnecessarily unbalanced.

K C Leung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 16 January 2022 and to expire on Thursday, 20 January 2022 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Leung's good race riding record.

Passing the 200 Metres, BERLIN TANGO was shifted out away from the heels of SENOR TOBA.

Over the concluding stages, ENJOYING shifted out under pressure and brushed the hindquarters of SENOR TOBA.

SENOR TOBA and ENJOYING were sent for sampling.
