Racing Incident Report
Race One: (178) - FUKUSHIMA HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters
Trainer D A Hayes was fined the sum of $3,000 for presenting CASA KINGDOM in the Parade Ring without a parade hood, part of that horse's declared gear.
DIVINE ERA shifted in at the start and bumped TELECOM MISSILE.
SPLIT OF A SECOND began only fairly and then was crowded for room between FOREVER CITY and GENERAL TRUMP.
JOY AVENUE shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of VIVA MAMA which became unbalanced.
After this, from a wide barrier, JOY AVENUE was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
After initially being ridden along in the early stages, GENERAL TRUMP was steadied approaching the 1100 Metres to obtain cover when racing wide.
After the 1100 Metres, ONE STEP AHEAD and SPLIT OF A SECOND raced tight.
SPLIT OF A SECOND was then awkwardly placed inside the heels of CASA KINGDOM near the 1050 Metres.
Approaching the 1000 Metres, ISLAND SUNSHINE got its head on the side, lay out and bumped VIVA MAMA.
ISLAND SUNSHINE then travelled wide and without cover throughout.
At the entrance to the Straight, OURGOLDENRULES and TELECOM MISSILE raced tight.
In the early part of the Straight, GENERAL TRUMP had some difficulty obtaining clear running.
At the 175 Metres, DIVINE ERA became unbalanced of its own accord.
A veterinary inspection of DIVINE ERA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Approaching and passing the 100 Metres, JOY AVENUE raced tight inside the heels of ONE STEP AHEAD when endeavouring to improve inside that horse where there was insufficient room.
This resulted in JOY AVENUE being disappointed for running inside that horse after the 100 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of TELECOM MISSILE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VIVA MAMA, ONE STEP AHEAD and GENERAL TRUMP were sent for sampling.

One Step Ahead just held off the late surge of General Trump after getting the gaps when needed to lead 30m out after a rails run behind midfield. It was his first win at start 25 with a switch to the Valley but he has always been knocking on the door. Well-backed General Trump ran on nicely two from the right to make it close on the wire after biding his time second last from an awkward gate. He's a winner waiting to happen on either surface. Zacian ran on nicely three from the right after a one-off run behind midfield to finish a few strides away in third. He's racing well and a win is forthcoming. Casa Kingdom got going late down the outside to fill the frame after settling fourth last. It was a better run carrying top weight down in class. Firming favourite Viva Mama succumbed inside the last 100m after having to clear for the lead from a wide gate. It was an OK effort following a stable change and he can get away with a race shortly. Joy Avenue ran on without menacing from the rear of the field. He might not be far off a bottom. Telecom Missile found nothing when asked for an effort following a box-seat run. He needed the run and is more effective at Sha Tin.
