Recap by phillip woo
Well-backed Cigar Buddies kept finding when challenged for the lead by Sunny And Gold 200m out to win a thriller by a lip. It was clearly his best run to date with a step back in distance to continue the superb form of the Jimmy Ting Koon-ho stable. Sunny And Gold came to win the race at the 200m stalking the leader one off from a wide gate but couldn't get by the never-say-die leader. He's made a good impression in both Class Five this term and can score shortly. Late-fancied favourite Fox Cheunger made it close on the wire after coming off heels up on straightening following a handy run. He's capable on his day and relished a return to the Valley after three unplaced Sha Tin runs. Early favourite Viva Chef stayed on for fourth without menacing the top-three following a prominent run. It was a better run with a return to the Valley and is close to a bottom. E Honey made ground late settling fourth last after a sluggish start. It was an improved effort with a return to the Valley after two Sha Tin failures but he's limited. Sunny Smile ran on steadily without menacing after a rail run in midfield. He appears from his past few runs to be wanting a further trip.
