Racing Incident Report
Race Nine: (835) - SPORTS ROAD HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
LOVING A BOOM began only fairly and then was crowded for room on jumping between ALL IN MIND and WHEN YOU BELIEVE which was taken out by BABY.
Then shortly after this incident, WHEN YOU BELIEVE shifted out and bumped ALL IN MIND.
From wide barriers, AMAZING ONE PLUS and FAMILY FOLKS were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.
Near the 950 Metres, IGNITING commenced to travel very keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of SPARKLING DRAGON.
Near the 750 Metres, SPARKLING DRAGON was hampered when steadied away from the heels of WHEN YOU BELIEVE (B Shinn) which shifted in when not properly clear.
B Shinn was severely reprimanded and told to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Near the 700 Metres, AMAZING ONE PLUS was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 650 Metres, ALL IN MIND was awkwardly placed behind IGNITING which itself was racing close to the heels of SPARKLING DRAGON.
Passing the 400 Metres, BABY lost ground when crowded for room inside ALL IN MIND which was racing tight inside the heels of IGNITING which shifted in marginally.
MR CROISSANT, which was following BABY, became unbalanced when being shifted out away from behind that horse.
Near the 150 Metres, LOVING A BOOM was shifted in away from the heels of IGNITING to obtain clear running.
Close to the finishing line, ALL IN MIND was held up for clear running behind SPARKLING DRAGON when racing tight inside LOVING A BOOM.
Because of this, ALL IN MIND was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
A veterinary inspection of MR CROISSANT and WAR WEAPON immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
IGNITING, SPARKLING DRAGON and LOVING A BOOM were sent for sampling.
GENERAL:
1.
Races 6 - 8 were each put back 10 minutes whilst Race 9 was put back 15 minutes.
2.
Adjourned Inquiry - 11 July 2021 Sha Tin Racemeeting - Race 4 (819) The Stewards tonight concluded their inquiry into the reason for M F Poon being dislodged from PLIKCLONE approaching the 400 Metres.
Evidence was tonight taken from Jockey Poon.
The Stewards found that rounding the Home Turn PLIKCLONE, which was travelling strongly, improved to be racing close to the heels of INESTIMABLE which commenced to give ground.
The Stewards further found that approaching the 400 Metres as INESTIMABLE continued to give ground, PLIKCLONE struck the heels of that horse and stumbled badly which resulted in Jockey Poon being dislodged.
WONDERFUL FANTASY, which was following PLIKCLONE, was checked away from the heels of that horse in consequence.
As the Stewards were of the opinion that there was no rider carelessness or error associated with this incident, no further action was taken.

Additional Veterinary Reports from Sha Tin Racemeeting on 11 July 2021 Subsequent official veterinary inspections (without endoscopy) of ONE STEP AHEAD, ALLOY KING, LUCKY MARYKNOLL, SUPER MISSION, HARMONY WIN WIN, BLAZING PARTNERS, JIANGXI STAMINA, EVEN KEEL, GLUCK RACER, BEAUTY AMIGO, LUCKY WITH YOU, MILLENNIUM FALCON, GREEN ENVY, GRACYLOVE, DRAGON COMMANDER, EZRA, PRECIOUSSHIP, CHAMPION'S WAY, DROPS OF GOD, IMA SINGLE MAN, LUCKY PATCH, STRONGER, BLAZE WARRIOR and MOERAKI revealed no apparent abnormality.

Racing Laboratory tests of CALIFORNIA SPANGLE, TORONADO PHANTOM, CHEERFUL STAR, FORTUNE PATROL, AMAZING AGILITY, BREEZE OF SPRING, FOX CHEUNGER, STEEL WIN, EVERYONE'S VICTORY, COOLCELEB, DASHING FIT, COPARTNER ERA, FREE FOAL, ZONE D, GALAXY EMPEROR, GOLDEN BOLT, SIGHT SUCCESS, KA YING MASTER, PRIVATE ROCKET, MASTER MONTARO, MISTER SNOWDON, CALIFORNIADEEPSHOT, HALL OF CHAMP, BEAUTY FIT and C P BRAVE (4.7.21) proved negative.

Well-backed Sparkling Dragon just held on for the win after overhauling Super Winner 100m out for the lead after a prominent run. He's had a fine campaign after ending with back-to-back wins. Loving A Boom made up heaps of ground late after a slow start to finish a close second. He's been a model of consistency without winning. Post-time favourite Igniting stayed on well after a handy run with cover to make it a blanket finish on the line. He's made a solid impression in his first campaign and does appear to have the tools to score in this grade next season. All In Mind had to check late near the inside following a one-off run in midfield. He's been racing well without winning for most of the campaign. Family Folks came from last to just miss the frame. It was another good effort up in grade carrying a light weight following a win last Wednesday. Super Winner was on his tippy toes 100m out after getting his own way in front. He's more effective over the 1,400m. When You Believe was yielding ground approaching the 100m after going forward three deep without cover to track the leader. He had an excuse. Early favourite War Weapon didn't land a blow after a prominent run on the fence.
