Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (673) - RUBY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
AHEAD A HEAD, which was difficult to load, will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test before being allowed to race again.
THIS IS GUTS was slow to begin.
XPONENTIAL shifted out at the start and bumped UNITED WE STAND.
CORRIENTHES and AUGUST MOON bumped heavily at the start, resulting in AUGUST MOON in particular becoming badly unbalanced.
BREEZE OF SPRING began awkwardly and lost ground.
AHEAD A HEAD began only fairly and then was steadied when crowded for room between INTENTION and SPARKLING DOLPHIN which shifted in abruptly.
After the 600 Metres, AUGUST MOON lay out under pressure.
Passing the 400 Metres, FARM BUMPER was shifted in away from the heels of INTENTION.
KABI SMART was shifted in away from the heels of SUNNY AND GOLD passing the 300 Metres after racing close to the heels of that horse.
KABI SMART then lay out and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of TREASURE OF FIELD approaching the 200 Metres.
Approaching the 200 Metres, CORRIENTHES was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SPARKLING DOLPHIN which shifted out under pressure.
Over the concluding stages, KABI SMART raced close to the heels of TREASURE OF FIELD.
A veterinary inspection of THIS IS GUTS, TREASURE OF FIELD and SUNNY AND GOLD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
BREEZE OF SPRING, UNITED WE STAND and CORRIENTHES were sent for sampling.

United We Stand kept on gamely after surging to the lead 300m out tracking the leader Sparkling Dragon in the centre of the track for an overdue win in a class record time after placing in five of seven other starts this term. He was resuming off a nice rest in Conghua. Early favourite Corrienthes got the better of long-time leader Sparkling Dolphin approaching the 100m for second following a speed-chasing run near the stands side. He was able to build on an improved effort last start. Sparkling Dolphin just held off latefancied favourite Breeze Of Spring for a placing after setting a swift pace in front. He can produce an odds good run now and then. Breeze Of Spring ran on reasonably well to just miss a placing after working into the clear on the far side 200m out settling towards the rear from a wide draw. It was a pleasing first run for his new stable but he clearly prefers a longer trip. August Moon came up one-paced over the final 100m following a prominent run behind the leaders. He's given a better sight in back-to-back runs over this course and distance but is still a work in progress. Newcomer This Is Guts made a mild bid from behind midfield. He needed the outing.
