Racing Incident Report
Race Four: (655) - LOTUS HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters
BIG BANG BONG began only fairly.
HAPPY RUBY began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped MOON PEAKS.
AMAZING LUCK shifted out at the start and bumped LUCKY TURBO.
AMAZING LUCK and LUCKY TURBO were then steadied in the early stages.
From the outside barrier, MANY GAINS was shifted across behind runners shortly after the start.
Near the 1250 Metres, HAPPY HOUR was tightened for room between BIG BANG BONG and JOY MASTER which was taken in by KUNG FU TEA which in turn shifted in away from the heels of MOON PEAKS.
After being shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier in the early stages, ALLOY KING commenced to race keenly approaching the 1200 Metres when awkwardly placed outside the heels of AMAZING LUCK which was taken out by JOY MASTER.
Passing the 800 Metres, ALLOY KING got its head up when travelling keenly and awkwardly placed behind BIG BANG BONG.
Passing the 500 Metres, MONEYMORE was momentarily awkwardly placed close to the heels of GO BALLISTIC as that horse commenced to give ground.
Passing the 100 Metres, AMAZING LUCK was shifted out away from the heels of SPICY GRILL.
AMAZING LUCK was then disappointed for running between SPICY GRILL and HAPPY HOUR near the 50 Metres and then was unable to obtain clear running over the concluding stages.
Because of this, AMAZING LUCK was not able to be ridden out over the latter stages of the race.
The performance of HAPPY RUBY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY RUBY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of HAPPY RUBY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
For the majority of the race, MONEYMORE travelled wide and without cover.
Throughout the race, GO BALLISTIC travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

The performance of GO BALLISTIC, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Mr K H Ting, the trainer of ALLOY KING, confirmed that he had asked A Hamelin to ride the horse conservatively in the early stages.
He said he is of the opinion ALLOY KING races best when able to obtain cover and as the horse was drawn a wide barrier today, he believed that were the horse to be ridden in a forward position, this would likely result in it not being able to obtain cover.
He added it will be his intention going forward to ensure that ALLOY KING races behind another runner if at all possible.
KUNG FU TEA and SPEEDY DRAGON were sent for sampling.

Favourite Kung Fu Tea got up in the final few metres for a maiden win at his ninth start after a wide with cover run in midfield. He had put the writing on the wall when nearly winning his Class Five debut last month. Speedy Dragon did everything right but get the win after working to the lead 220m out following a prominent run along the fence. It was one of his better runs in a while following a stable change. Big Bang Bong ran on steadily after a rails run in midfield to fill a placing. He has shown a bit more spark in his past two runs following a downgrade. Joy Master rallied well to fill the frame after settling deep with cover towards the rear. He's crying out for a mile trip after showing progress in backto- back runs following a nose bleed in December. Spicy Grill came up one-paced over the final 150m after looming a chance mid-straight following a one-off run better than midfield. He might be looking for a longer trip. Happy Hour nearly got up from behind midfield to pick up a minor cheque. He's not easy to get right but on the back of this run the 1,600m might suit him better. Moon Peaks weakened over the final 200m after slipping through along the inside to lead 850m out. He's better suited over the 1,200m.
