Recap by phillip woo

Well-backed late, Roman Turbo quickened nicely down the outside to overhaul Super Wealthy 20m out after a patient ride third from the rear for an overdue win after placing in four of five other starts. He has the tools to head higher. Super Wealthy did everything but get the win after hitting the front passing the 100m following a one-off run worse than midfield. He's returning to form. Favourite Guy Dragon ran on to finish a non-threatening third after settling fourth from the rear. It was another honest performance despite a rise in trip. California Rad kept on all right for fourth after assuming the lead from Highly Proactive at the 300m following a pace-stalking run from a tricky gate. He had an excuse chasing a hot pace but the 1,200m may suit him better. Winning For All ran on without menacing down the outside after making his run one from the rear. He's finding it harder off his current mark following a December win.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five: (502) - CHEUNG CHAU HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1400Meters

BEAUTY RUSH began only fairly.

WINNING FOR ALL and BAND OF BROTHERS were shifted across from wide barriers to obtain cover in the early stages.

Near the 1150 Metres, SUPER WEALTHY was crowded for room inside BEAUTY RUSH which raced tight inside the heels of CALIFORNIA RAD (R Maia) which shifted in.

R Maia was advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside in similar circumstances.

Then after the 1100 Metres, SUPER WEALTHY got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of BEAUTY RUSH.

Passing the 500 Metres, SUPER BUDDY improved to the outside of TEAM SPIRIT, resulting in GUY DRAGON being taken out and racing tight with ROMAN TURBO.

Passing the 100 Metres, GUY DRAGON was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SUPER WEALTHY.

M F Poon (HIGHLY PROACTIVE) stated that after obtaining the lead in the early stages, his mount would not relax and travelled very keenly.

He said he attempted to steady HIGHLY PROACTIVE for some distance after the 1200 Metres, however, the horse got its head in the air and would not come back underneath him.

He said because of the manner in which HIGHLY PROACTIVE was racing, this resulted in the tempo of the race being quicker than he had hoped and consequently the horse did not finish off the race strongly over the concluding stages.

A veterinary inspection of BAND OF BROTHERS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GUY DRAGON, ROMAN TURBO and SUPER WEALTHY were sent for sampling.
