Ka Ying Master kept on gamely after surging to the lead approaching the 200m following a pace-stalking run for a third win this season. He's really benefitted from off-season throat surgery. Alcari just out-finished Hall Of Champ down the outside for second after making his run four back and one-off the fence. He can produce an odd good run over this course. Hall Of Champ ran on well near the inside after a rails run worse than midfield to make it close for second. It was an improved effort dropping back in distance at his second run in Class Three following a 1,400m win. Well-backed Seven Heavens had every chance but came up one-paced following a one-out, one-back run. He'll need to drop further in the handicaps. Favourite Shouson found nothing when push came to shove following a box-seat run. He failed to live up to a long-priced second last time out. Ima Single Man ran on steadily without ever looking a threat following a one-off run in midfield. He hasn't disgraced in any of his three runs but is still acclimatising.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight: (324) - CAUSEWAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

HALL OF CHAMP began only fairly.

From wide barriers, WINSTON'S LAD, SUPER COMMANDER, HARDLY SWEARS and ALCARI were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Approaching the 600 Metres, HARDLY SWEARS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of WINSTON'S LAD.

Approaching the 150 Metres, FIRST RESPONDER was awkwardly placed inside the heels of KA YING MASTER which shifted in when placed under pressure.

For the majority of the race, COMPASSION SPIRIT travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of FIRST RESPONDER immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left hind leg.

Before being allowed to race again, FIRST RESPONDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY SPARK immediately following the race found that horse to have an epiglottic entrapment.

SHOUSON, KA YING MASTER and ALCARI were sent for sampling.
