Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Computer Patch led and drew clear to win with something in reserve despite stepping into group company for the first time. He's won four from nine starts and there's clearly more to come from him. Old-timer Jolly Banner closed nicely to take second after drifting back to near last at the 800m following a quick start. He's as honest as the day is long. Gold Chest kept on well to finish third after a midfield run. It was still a good effort up in class after a last-start win. Big Party gradually faded to finish well behind Gold Chest after a prominent run on the far side. The big weight took its toll. Wishful Thinker stayed on without menacing travelling stands side after getting squeezed out at the start. He had an excuse but is likely beyond his better days. Victoriam weakened 100m out after chasing the speed in fourth. The combination of a rise in class in his initial run over the straight 1,000m backfired.
