Racing Incident Report
Race Five: (773) - TUNG LUNG CHAU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
After being loaded into the barriers, JADE FORTUNE reared abruptly, resulting in its rider, N Callan, being dislodged.
N Callan was cleared to fulfil his race riding engagement on JADE FORTUNE.
Before being allowed to race again, JADE FORTUNE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
N Callan was subsequently stood down from his remaining race riding engagements by the Chief Medical Officer due to a hip injury which he sustained when dislodged from JADE FORTUNE.
HIDDEN SPIRIT and COPARTNER SPIRIT bumped at the start.
From wide barriers, WINNING TOGETHER and RIGHTEOUS MATE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 400 Metres, LUCKY WIN WIN and SKYEY SUPREME raced tight.
K Teetan (PARTY EVERYDAY) was spoken to regarding raising his whip arm above the height of his shoulder passing the 400 Metres.
BREEZE OF SPRING lay out rounding the Home Turn, resulting in LUCKY WIN WIN being directed in away from BREEZE OF SPRING in the early part of the Straight.
BREEZE OF SPRING continued to lay out and as the horse was giving ground, it shifted out abruptly away from LUCKY WIN WIN after the 200 Metres, resulting in BREEZE OF SPRING being steadied away from the heels of SKYEY SUPREME.
When questioned, Z Purton (MOMENTUM HAPPY) stated that he was instructed to obtain a forward position on the horse which was attempting 1650 Metres for the first time today.
He said after riding his mount along in the early stages he was able to shift MOMENTUM HAPPY across to race outside the leader MEGATRON and passing the 1400 Metres MOMENTUM HAPPY immediately commenced to prove very difficult to settle.
He said he attempted for a considerable distance to have MOMENTUM HAPPY relax, however, the horse would not respond to his endeavours and continued to prove very difficult to settle.
He said MOMENTUM HAPPY also lay out in the middle stages which made it more difficult for him to be able to get the horse to settle.
He said because of the manner in which MOMENTUM HAPPY travelled, the horse was then not able to finish off the race.
A review of the video established that when proving difficult to settle, the bit pulled through MOMENTUM HAPPY's mouth to the right.
Z Purton added that after the race he immediately recommended to connections that they consider dropping the horse back in distance at its future race starts.
A veterinary inspection of MOMENTUM HAPPY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of WINNING TOGETHER immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, WINNING TOGETHER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of CHUNG WAH SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PARTY EVERYDAY and SKYEY SUPREME were sent for sampling.

Favourite Party Everyday rallied strongly to take control 150m out after a patient ride fourth from the rear for a second straight win. He's really come into his own on this surface and remains one to follow. Skyey Supreme just got up in the last few metres for second after a one-off run better than midfield from a wide gate. Lucky Win Win ran on well after a rail run in midfield to place. He was suited by the step back up to a mile at only his second run this season following an injury. Righteous Mate got going late for fourth after a patient ride among the backmarkers. He's run with merits in his past two starts with a return to the dirt. Copartner Spirit stayed on reasonably well after chasing the leaders at massive odds for a minor cheque. It was his best run to date with a switch to the dirt. Jade Fortune ran on late without menacing after making his run five back. He had been stirred up prior to the start which may have affected his performance.
