Enfolding got up in the shadows of the post after being ridden for luck third last from a wide gate. He was deserving of the win after going close in a good number of his past eight starts. Favourite Touch Of Luck won the battle close to home after engaging long-time leader California Argent at the 200m following a box-seat run but would find one just better on the wire. California Argent was softened in front by Turin Redstar 1,100m out and only succumbed in the final few strides. It was a solid effort in defeat. Punted late London Luckystar came from last to finish fourth without threatening the top three. He's building towards a win on this surface but is likely crying out for 1,800m. Great Treasure ran on reasonably well from beyond midfield. Old-timer's rarely produces a bad run on either surface. Ping Hai Treasure came up one-paced over the final 150m after chasing the speed. Unite Spirit never ran on from towards the rear. It was a flat performance.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine: (698) - PEACOCK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

RICKFIELD shifted out at the start and bumped TOUCH OF LUCK.

GAMEPLAYER TIMES and TURIN REDSTAR bumped at the start.

From wide barriers, ENFOLDING, LONDON LUCKYSTAR, LA YAKFI and UNITE SPIRIT were all steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

After passing the winning post on the first occasion, RICKFIELD was steadied away from the heels of TOUCH OF LUCK.

Passing the 1300 Metres, TOUCH OF LUCK commenced to travel keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions when awkwardly placed behind CALIFORNIA ARGENT.

After the 900 Metres, UNITE SPIRIT was left racing wide and without cover.

Approaching the 300 Metres, GAMEPLAYER TIMES shifted in and inconvenienced LONDON LUCKYSTAR which then got its head on the side and shifted in towards the heels of TURIN REDSTAR which was commencing to give ground.

The performance of FUN LEGEND, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, FUN LEGEND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of FUN LEGEND immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

H T Mo (CALIFORNIA ARGENT) was spoken to regarding using the whip in the backhand manner down the shoulder of the horse on a number of occasions in the Straight.

After the race, K Teetan reported that LA YAKFI hung out throughout the race and proved difficult to ride.

A veterinary inspection of TURIN REDSTAR, PING HAI TREASURE, LA YAKFI and UNITE SPIRIT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

ENFOLDING and TOUCH OF LUCK were sent for sampling.
