Racing Incident Report
Race Three: (511) - SUPER SATIN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
BEST SMILE got its head up on jumping and began awkwardly.
From wide barriers, SPICY GRILL, SWEETLY BABY and TELECOM MISSILE were all shifted across behind runners soon after the start.
Approaching and passing the 700 Metres, CHAIRMAN LO travelled keenly and was steadied away from the heels of SPONTANEOUS.
For a short distance after straightening, CHAIRMAN LO was awkwardly placed between TANG TREASURE and COMPASSION SPIRIT before being shifted to the outside of COMPASSION SPIRIT to improve.
Approaching the 200 Metres, the whip of K C Leung (SPICY GRILL) became momentarily caught up with the upper body of T H So (TELECOM MISSILE).
APOLLOS BOW and TANG TREASURE travelled wide and without cover throughout the race and consequently gave ground in the Straight.
The performance of DASHING GRACE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, DASHING GRACE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of and DASHING GRACE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
A veterinary inspection of BEST SMILE immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.
GOOD LUCK FRIEND and YEE CHEONG PEGASUS were sent for sampling.

Early favourite Good Luck Friend was up sharing the lead on the fence, established a near two-length lead soon after straightening and kept on nicely for the win. He backed up an unlucky debut effort and has the tools to head higher. Post-time favourite Yee Cheong Pegasus ran on well better than midfield but found one too smart on the day. He lost no admirers in defeat. Compassion Spirit got up 100m out for a placing after a wide and without cover run behind midfield. He had flashed potential in his opening two starts and is heading in the right direction. Chairman Lo closed well with one wider out after making his run beyond midfield two and sometimes three-deep with cover. Newcomer Galactic ran on without menacing after making his run one-off worse than midfield. It wasn't a bad run on debut but he'll need require a bit more education. Spontaneous came up flat when asked for an effort following a deep run with cover in midfield.
