Racing Incident Report
Race Eight: (321) - CAUSEWAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
From wide barriers, JOYFUL UNION, FEARLESS FIRE and STAR MAJESTIC were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.
Approaching the 250 Metres, VICTORIAM was crowded for room between SMART LEADER and SHINING ACE which shifted in.
Passing the 200 Metres, SHINING ACE (J Moreira) shifted in and bumped VICTORIAM (B Shinn).
SHINING ACE was then corrected by its rider whilst VICTORIAM shifted in away from that horse, causing SMART LEADER to be crowded onto BALLISTIC KING near the 150 Metres.
Both J Moreira and B Shinn were advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Near the 150 Metres, THE RUNNER was steadied when crowded for room between WINNING FEELING (S de Sousa) which shifted out and BALLISTIC KING (C Schofield) which shifted in.
Both S de Sousa and C Schofield were reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances they would be expected to make more effort to keep their mounts on a straight course.
For the majority of the race, VICTORIAM travelled wide and without cover.
A veterinary inspection of THE RUNNER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
VICTORIAM, JOYFUL UNION and SHINING ACE were sent for sampling.

Joyful Union zipped home to grab victory close to home after settling behind midfield on the fence following a slow start. He's been threatening to salute all season long. Early favourite Shining Ace found one just too good after moving to the front 150m out following a one-off run in midfield. He's having a terrific campaign. Ballistic King kept on for a placing following a one-out, one-back run. He had his chance and might be on or near his mark. Winning Feeling grudgingly gave way after dictating the run. It wasn't an encouraging effort stepping up in grade off a light weight following a win. Nordic Warrior ran on without menacing after making his run third from the rear. Superb Daddy made some ground late from the back. It was an encouraging effort on debut over an inadequate trip. Post-time favourite Victoriam wasn't beaten too far in the end after a wide and without cover run fore of midfield. He can be forgiven for the run.
