Recap by phillip woo

Odds-on favourite Aurora Pegasus wore down late-fancied The Abraxas in deep stretch for a first win at his fourth start. He still has a naughty nature but clearly has raw ability and remains one to follow. The Abraxas was just denied after giving a cheeky sight in front. He's building towards a win. Top Score closed well after peeling into the open 200m out from behind midfield to make it close in the end. Hero Time ran on all right after a deep run without cover worse than midfield from a wide gate. On the back of his two runs this term, he's not far off a bottom. Zero Hedge came up one-paced over the last 100m with every chance following a one-off run better than midfield. He wasn't able to improve on a run last month over the Valley 1,000m and will need to drop lower in the handicaps. Well-backed Jimson The Dragon didn't click after getting all favours in the box-seat. He's destined for a stint in Class Five.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four: (81) - NAKAYAMA HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

BOND ELEGANCE was withdrawn on raceday afternoon by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (became distressed when proving difficult to load on the horse transport from Sha Tin).

Before being allowed to race again, BOND ELEGANCE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

When interviewed, Trainer D J Whyte stated that for the near future BOND ELEGANCE's racing would be restricted to Sha Tin which does not involve the horse having to be floated.

Mr Whyte was however advised that before being eligible to be entered to race at Happy Valley again, BOND ELEGANCE will have to undergo an appropriate test to establish that the horse can be transported satisfactorily to the racecourse.

From wide barriers, SUPREME PATROL and DIVINE POWER were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Throughout the race, HAPPY FOREST travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground.

A veterinary inspection of HAPPY FOREST immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of HAPPY FOREST, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY FOREST will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection of ZERO HEDGE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

AURORA PEGASUS and THE ABRAXAS were sent for sampling.
