Recap by phillip woo
Favourite Good Runners Way just held on for the win after hitting the front 100m out following a box-seat run. He was given a beautiful run but remains a chance up in grade off a light weight. Regency Gem made it interesting in the end after having to weave his way out of traffic mid-straight following a patient ride second from the rear. He appears to have turned the corner during the offseason. Proud Sky grudgingly gave way after briefly hitting the front near the 200m following a ground-covering in midfield. It was a good run in defeat and he's usually at his best over the 1,800m. Le Panache kept plugging away after altering course for a clear run at the 200m following a one-off run worse than midfield. Gold Velvet made some ground without menacing down the outside after travelling deep near the back. He's more effective at the Valley. Specked late Whampoa Star faded 150m out after sharing the lead early on with Romantic Journey.
