Recap by phillip woo

Aerohappiness just got up in the last stride from behind midfield for an overdue win after threatening to salute all season long. He'll remain competitive in the grade following a penalty. Post-time favourite Lockheed was just denied after working to the front near the 200m following a one-out one-back run. He caught the eye last start and will be winning shortly. Hair Trigger just held on for third after a dream run. He can bob up now and then. Early favourite with roll-up money Dan Control made a steady bid from midfield to just miss a placing. The big weight has anchored him in his past two starts after a debut win. Top Score ran on late without menacing from near the back. He's a winner waiting to happen in Class Four. Simply Big tracked the leader Triumphant Arch, led 350m out and was stopping 100m out. He's better on the dirt.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven: (690) - CALIFORNIA MEMORY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

SIMPLY BIG shifted in at the start and bumped THE JUDGE.

FALCON TURBO shifted in at the start and inconvenienced DAN CONTROL.

From wide barriers, TOP SCORE and DECISIVE ACTION were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners.

Near the 750 Metres, DECISIVE ACTION got its head up when travelling keenly and awkwardly placed inside the heels of CALIFORNIA TURBO which travelled wide and without cover for the majority of the race.

FALCON TURBO lost its left front plate passing the 600 Metres.

Passing the 600 Metres, THE JUDGE raced tight inside TOP SCORE as that horse improved into tight running inside FALCON TURBO.

Rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight, DAN CONTROL became unbalanced when racing tight outside AEROHAPPINESS (J Moreira) which was shifting to the outside of LOCKHEED to obtain clear running.

J Moreira was advised to exercise due care in similar circumstances.

HAIR TRIGGER was held up for clear running rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight.

At the entrance to the Straight, CALIFORNIA TURBO was bumped by FALCON TURBO which became unbalanced after being bumped by TOP SCORE (C Y Ho) which shifted out.

C Y Ho was reprimanded and advised to exercise due care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

Passing the 250 Metres, FALCON TURBO raced tight between CALIFORNIA TURBO and TOP SCORE which shifted out under pressure before being shifted back in to relieve the tightening to FALCON TURBO.

Close to the finishing line, DAN CONTROL got its head on the side and lay in towards the heels of LOCKHEED.

A veterinary inspection of TRIUMPHANT ARCH immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea.

AEROHAPPINESS and LOCKHEED were sent for sampling.
