Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Oriental Elite easily took control 150m out following a midfield run for a second win from nine starts. He's an honest sprinter over this course. Punted late Royal Chocolate got the better of Gouten Of Garo 100m out for second sitting one-out, oneback from a wide gate. He's racing well and can break through at any moment. Gouten Of Garo kept plugging way for a placing following a box-seat run. His honesty keeps him from a sure-fire win in Class Five. Le Terroir flashed late from the rear to grab fourth for a third straight time. He's crying out for a longer trip. Grand Harbour gradually faded after stalking the leader Super Junior. He's beyond his better days and the dirt appears to suit him better nowadays. Khaki ran on without ever looking a threat after covering ground the entire trip near the back from the widest gate. Super Junior faded after dictating the run. He needed the outing after a 343-day injury induced absence.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two: (508) - BROOM HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

On jumping, KWAI CHUNG ELITE, which was fractious in the barriers, bounded in the air and lost ground.

ORIENTAL ELITE shifted in on jumping and bumped SUPER JUNIOR.

LE TERROIR and FARM BUMPER made contact at the start.

A short distance after the start, LE TERROIR became unbalanced after being bumped by THIS ONE'S FOR YOU which shifted out after being brushed by BACK IN BLACK.

After this, LE TERROIR and FARM BUMPER were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.

Also from a wide barrier, DRAGON LEGEND was steadied in the early stages to obtain cover.

After initially being ridden along in the early stages, KHAKI failed to muster speed and then for the majority of the race travelled wide and without cover.

Approaching the 200 Metres, THIS ONE'S FOR YOU raced in restricted room between FARM BUMPER and KHAKI which shifted out.

Near the 100 Metres, KHAKI was steadied away from the heels of LE TERROIR (M F Poon) which shifted out under pressure.

M F Poon was severely reprimanded and told that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mount.

After the 100 Metres, FARM BUMPER raced tight outside THIS ONE'S FOR YOU.

A veterinary inspection of KHAKI and SUPER JUNIOR immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

LE TERROIR, ORIENTAL ELITE and ROYAL CHOCOLATE were sent for sampling.
