Recap by phillip woo
Wishful Thinker responded under the whip to take control 120m out after stalking the long time, leader Gunnison for a fourth win from five starts. He's smart but will need to raise his game against group opposition next. Gunnison wouldn't go down without a fight after pinging the gate. He's as honest as the day is long sprinting on either surface. Jolly Banner just held off Winner's Way by a whisker for third but never was a threat to the top pair. Winner's Way was always grinding away at the rear. He was giving each of his rivals too much of a weight advantage.
